SoCal Design brings to life another beautiful, functional space in this kitchen and bathroom remodel. The highlight of these renovations is the remarkable use of stone to create a sense of luxury and elegance.

The kitchen is built around custom cherry raised-panel cabinetry with dovetailed full-extension soft-close features. The tops of the cabinets are staggered, which plays with one’s perception of depth and makes the space truly enjoyable to behold.

Sapphire blue granite slab countertops were chosen for contrast and visual appeal. Integrated between the cherry cabinetry and granite countertops is a split-faced stone backsplash with a custom stone inlay over the cooktop. Blending beautifully with the backsplash and complementing the sapphire blue granite are custom travertine floors that are both visually appealing and tough enough to handle years of daily use. Illuminating the area in a warm glow is low-voltage recessed lighting from a recessed tray ceiling that adds a sense of height and space to the room.

The kitchen is not the only space that stands out in this home. An integrated entertainment center with built-in cabinetry and speaker alcoves makes watching TV even more stimulating. The fireplace is also a must-see: one-of-a-kind custom-built granite mantel with handmade stone corbels sits against a rough-cut stone veneer wall to create beautiful contrast.

While the entire home features beautiful custom design, the master bathroom is truly a showcase for custom stonework. Variety of design is the key in this space – each area features a slightly different yet complementary design to create a visually dynamic effect. Clipped-corner dot inlay, pinwheel, and other tile designs unfold as one walks through the space, creating an eclectic yet intriguing experience.
